We provide autism support to Albertans, with a focus on marginalized, underrepresented, and racialized communities. Our work advances health, education, cultural understanding, and advocacy.
At Arizen Spectrum Foundation, we either deliver support directly or connect families with trusted professionals.
What We Do Directly:
- Share clear, culturally relevant autism information and reduce stigma.
- Help parents recognize early signs of autism.
- Provide respectful, non-judgmental spaces for families to ask questions.
- Offer emotional support, peer connections, and practical caregiver guidance.
- Organize social activities for parents and caregivers, including:
- Informal meetups and coffee chats
- Educational workshops and discussion groups
- Family-friendly events (picnics, movie nights)
- Outdoor and wellness activities (walking groups, yoga, mindfulness)
- Creative hobby circles (art, cooking, book clubs)
- Virtual social spaces for ongoing connection and support
- Black History Month evenings to celebrate the strength and resilience of autistic individuals and caregivers
- Educate parents and caregivers on financial and tax literacy.
- Connect caregivers with respite care agencies to support family well-being
- Assist with understanding school supports and advocating for children.
- Help families access funding, community programs, and resources.
- Support life skills, independence, and future planning for children and adults.
- Collaborate with faith leaders to integrate cultural and spiritual needs.
